The Senior Area Manager is responsible for all the manufacturing functions on their assigned shift. This includes working with and directing the Area Manager group to ensure the proper number of personnel, materials, and equipment necessary are present to efficiently and safely meet the requirements of the Customer.
Responsibilities
Promote a safe working practice in a safe and orderly environment. He/she ensures that all aspects of the area under his/her supervision are in accordance with OSHA.
Ensure effective communication via verbally and non-verbal documentation / instruction so that all associates have a clear understanding of how to perform their duties and what the manufacturing goals are.
Ensures that all department have the necessary materials and equipment to perform their daily tasks.
Senior Area Manager is responsible for allocating manpower where needed and making manpower adjustments on the fly in the case equipment downtime occurs.
Ensures all department areas are maintained in a clean and organized manner so that all standards and practices are being met or exceeded.
Lead and supervise manufacturing activities in a high-speed equipment environment
Hire, develop, train and monitor production, technical, and support personnel
Assist in the management of the Corrective Action System
Initiate and oversee quality and process improvement
Participate and support Lean Manufacturing methodology to achieve operational goals
Monitor productivity, reduce scrap and down time
Ensure accurate and efficient communication between all departments and production personnel
QUALIFICATIONS :
BS or BA degree preferred
or 3+ years manufacturing supervision experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
